It’s quite a challenge finding a spot for breakfast at the Laleli area in Istanbul at 7am in the morning. Apart from hotels offering pricey breakfast options, this was one of the limited affordable option around. Many locals entered the restaurant and that made me feel like a sought after spot for traditional breakfast options. I went for a breakfast for two and it includes a very generous portion of olives, two kinds of cheese (white and yellow), honey, butter, strawberry and sour cherry preserves, one type of fresh cheese (I suspect the fresh cheese was made from a blend of buffalo milk and cow milk), milk and unsalted butter. There was also a small portion of fresh fruit With all of the items that were included in our two-person breakfast spread; we left satisfied and happy. There was way too much food but you cannot complain when you have but one breakfast in Istanbul. Our breakfast at Gaziantep City Hotel would be one of our most memorable meals in Istanbul.
